This story is part of Apple Event, our full coverage of the latest news from Apple headquarters.

Apple on Tuesday announced Apple Fitness Plus, a fitness streaming subscription that gives you guided workouts using the workout metrics from your Apple Watch. The service is similar to Peloton Digital and other fitness streaming services out there, but this is the first that’s been built explicitly for the Apple Watch

Here’s how it works: You pick any workout video from the Fitness Plus app on your iPad, iPhone or Apple TV and start it. Your Apple Watch syncs your heart rate, calories burned, pace and duration data to Fitness Plus. You can then see that data on whichever screen you’re using to follow the workout. During some workouts, you’ll get onscreen cues to ramp up your pace or heart rate to push yourself.

The service costs $9.99

Doctors Should Watch for Punctured Lungs in COVID Patients | Health News

By Robert Preidt, HealthDay Reporter

(HealthDay)

TUESDAY, Sept. 15, 2020 (HealthDay News) — Punctured lungs occur in as many as 1 in 100 hospitalized COVID-19 patients, a new study finds.

Before the pandemic, this problem was typically seen in very tall young men or older patients with severe lung disease. But some British researchers noticed that several patients with COVID-19 developed the condition and decided to investigate.

“We started to see patients affected by a punctured lung, even among those who were not put on a ventilator,” said Stefan Marciniak, a professor at the University of Cambridge Institute of Medical Research.

“To see if this was a real association, I put a call out to respiratory colleagues across the U.K. via Twitter,” Marciniak said in a university news release. “The response was dramatic — this was clearly something that others in the field were seeing.”

The researchers noted that damage

Honor Watch ES Is A Luxury Budget Fitness Tracker With One Missing Feature

Honor has announced a new fitness tracker that looks like a smartwatch. The Honor Watch ES is its version of the Huawei Watch Fit, which has the character of a stretched Apple Watch.

Only European pricing has been revealed to date. The Honor Watch ES costs 99 Euro, and will be available from September 7. This suggests it may cost around $110-120 in the US.

Highlights are clear to see. The Honor Watch ES has a large, colourful screen for its cost, far outstripping the relatively basic Fitbit Inspire HR. And having had the chance to wear it for an hour, I can tell you the display looks far less odd than it may appear in promotional images. This thing looks like an upscale smartwatch.

Just one part is missing, an element present in Honor’s Watch Magic 2

Fitbit rival Casio G-Shock GBD-H1000

• Timex’s FIRST-EVER fitness smartwatch costs less than a Fitbit Versa 2 and comes with built-in GPS

With the GBD-H1000, Casio is seemingly after active people who favour traditional watch brands, and find the look of the Fitbit Versa 2 and the Garmin Venu a little too wimpy. The Casio G-Shock GBD-H1000 will sell for £379 per unit, £200 over the Fitbit Versa 2’s usual retail price and on par with the Apple Watch Series 5, so we are expecting some pretty solid functionality for this price.

The specification sheet, sent along with the press release, has a lot to say, but as much

How to watch Champions League fixture online and on TV tonight

Bayern Munich are now the clear favourites for the Champions League but Lyon have revelled in their role as underdogs so far this season.” data-reactid=”26″Bayern Munich are now the clear favourites for the Champions League but Lyon have revelled in their role as underdogs so far this season.

The Germans must beware of falling the same way Juventus and Manchester City did though ahead of the second semi-final.

Hansi Flick’s side is now settled, too, with the Bundesliga champions hoping to return to the final for the first time since 2013.

Robert Lewandowski will hope to make it nine consecutive Champions League games with a goal – a feat only matched by Ruud Van Nistelrooy in 2003 (nine) and Cristiano Ronaldo in 2018 (11).

Here is how you can watch the game on television and on a live stream.

Beckett Double Bill

Two-thirds of Trevor Nunn’s masterful Beckett triple bill at London’s Jermyn Street theatre in early 2020 has been made available online. Hugging his tape recorder and munching bananas, James Hayes unspools melancholic memories in the classic Krapp’s Last Tape, which is accompanied by a rarity in The Old Tune, where Niall Buggy’s Mr Gorman and David Threlfall’s Mr Cream shoot the breeze on a park bench. Available from Digital Theatre until 31 December.

Virtual Collaborators

A vital network created in lockdown by actor and writer Danusia Samal, Virtual Collaborators paired up 50 creatives so that they could work remotely while unable to return to rehearsal rooms. The result was a series of rapid-response short films about how our lives have been changed by Covid-19, from the toll on intensive care workers to couples separated by quarantine, the effects of self-isolation and how offices have adapted to Zoom

Joe Biden and Democrats unveil details of DNC convention including nightly themes, ways to watch

WASHINGTON – With guests and segments streamed in from across the country, Democrats and their presumptive nominee Joe Biden plan to use four nights of videos and speakers at the party’s convention to highlight stories of everyday Americans struggling during a global pandemic and economic upheaval.

In doing so, they will cast blame on President Donald Trump for simultaneous crises and argue that Biden, the former vice president, is the person America needs to lead the nation out of chaos.

Biden and the Democratic National Committee have chosen “Uniting America,” according to convention planners, as the primary theme for the four-day day Democratic National Convention, originally planned for Milwaukee but now to be conducted by video from satellite locations because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The theme for the DNC’s unprecedented virtual convention is meant to show a sharp contrast to Trump, who Democrats say has divided the nation amid one

Tropical Storm Watch issued for South Florida; Isaias expected to become a hurricane

South Florida was put under a tropical storm watch Thursday afternoon with Isaias expected to approach Florida and the Bahamas as a Category 1 hurricane by Saturday.

In an 8 p.m. update, the National Hurricane Center said Tropical Storm Isaias has lost some forward speed but is still expected over the next couple of days. The center of Isaias is forecast to be near the Central Bahamas Friday night and move near or over the Northwestern Bahamas and near South Florida on Saturday.

The storm has already crossed the mountains of Hispaniola while flooding roads and homes in Puerto Rico and blowing roofs away in Haiti.

The NHC ordered a tropical storm watch from Ocean Reef northward to Sebastian Inlet, Florida, Thursday afternoon, and the government of the Bahamas has issued a hurricane warning for the Northwestern Bahamas, which includes the Abacos Islands, Grand Bahamas Island and Andros Island.
