Amanda Kloots is giving fans a “sneak peek” of the home she bought with her late husband, Nick Cordero.

On Friday, Kloots, 38, posted several photos of the house on her Instagram and shared with followers that she has started moving some of the family’s belongings into the property.

Among the furnishings include a dining table built in honor of Cordero — who died last month from coronavirus complications at the age of 41 — with the title of his hit song “Live Your Life” engraved onto its surface.

“A sneak peak of our new house!” Kloots wrote alongside the pictures. “Yesterday big furniture pieces arrived and it was so exciting to see things come to life. I had truly been terrified about this move, but walking in yesterday was a huge sigh of relief.”

Nancy Pelosi To Make Masks Mandatory In House Chamber

On the heels of a mask-defying lawmaker testing positive for COVID-19, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Wednesday that everyone must wear masks whenever they’re in the House chamber.

“Members and staff will be required to wear masks at all times in the Hall of the House, except that members may remove their masks temporarily when recognized,” the California Democrat said on a call with other members of the House, carving out an exception for when people take the podium to speak.

Protective face masks are one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of the coronavirus, public health officials have said. Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said earlier this month that if everyone wore a mask right now, the U.S. could get the pandemic under control in as little as four weeks.

“The chair expects all members and staff to

U.S. Census Bureau Workers To Make House Visits In Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, IL — The U.S. Census Bureau representatives will visit Plainfield households next week to follow up on those that have not yet responded to the 2020 Census, the village said in a release Thursday.

When visiting homes, census workers will ask basic questions including how many people live in the house. Responses to the survey are only used to produce statistics and are protected by federal law. If no one is home, the census taker will leave a notice of their visit with information about how to respond to the Census online, by phone, or by mail.

In order to ensure safety, census takers will wear masks and follow local public health guidelines when they visit residences. All representatives are required to complete a virtual COVID-19 training on social distancing and other health and safety protocols before beginning their work in neighborhoods, according to the U.S. census Bureau website.

Nearly 3,500 Public Health Experts Sign Letter Defending Fauci Amid White House Attacks

Nearly 3,500 public health experts sent an open letter to President Donald Trump amid a spate of attacks launched over the last two weeks at Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, calling those seeking to undercut him a “dangerous distraction.”

In the letter, which was organized by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, the group calls the coronavirus pandemic “one of the greatest challenges the United States has faced in its history.” But the signatories, which include two previous heads of the Food and Drug Administration, a former U.S. surgeon general and a former secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, said they were troubled by efforts to smear Fauci, who they said has provided a clear voice to Americans during the health crisis.

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, he has remained one of the world’s most trusted scientists on COVID-19, daily

White House ‘red zone’ warning, DeSantis ‘pretty good shape’ message, and, oh, crowded primaries

It’s Monday, July 20. Fifty-one years ago today, Apollo 11 landed two men on the moon. Today, the nation is asking its people to follow much simpler science and halt the spread of the coronavirus.

One small step might be to wear a mask. It may also take another shutdown in parts of Florida, where Miami-Dade, Broward and Hillsborough counties represented 41% of new cases in the state last week. And it takes a messaging strategy that persuades.

Our moon shot: We now know three things: mask wearing and social distancing must become the norm, the investment into contact tracing and rapid testing must be done in exponentially higher numbers than we have seen yet in Florida, and government must make available isolation hotels for those who test positive and do not have a place to quarantine.

Let’s take a look at where Florida policy is in that context.

White House campaign to help jobless ‘find something new’

WASHINGTON (AP) — Presidential adviser Ivanka Trump on Tuesday unveiled a White House-backed national ad campaign highlighting alternative ways to start a career, an initiative targeting students, mid-career workers and the millions who are now unemployed because of the coronavirus.

Called “Find Something New,” the campaign is backed by Apple Inc. and IBM Corp. It was quickly bashed on social media as being tone deaf and inadequate for the times.

The Trump administration has long emphasized skills-based job and vocational training as an alternative to two- or four-year college degree programs for high school graduates, arguing that college isn’t for everyone and that a degree isn’t required for many jobs.

The campaign had been in the works for some time, but gained new urgency after efforts to slow the coronavirus outbreak left millions of people unemployed.

Ivanka Trump said President Donald Trump has been talking about alternate career paths since

How to Make Natural Dyes From Things You Already Have Around Your House

From avocado pits to turmeric powder.

Ocean Rose with yarn she dyed.
Ocean Rose with yarn she dyed.

We were a couple months into quarantine when my best friend announced to me that they had started dyeing their clothes with things they found around their kitchen.

First there was a cropped knit dyed a brilliant yellow by turmeric root, then a button-up turned pink with the help of some beets. When we met up in a park to wave hello at our first socially-distant hangout, they picked a few small fistfuls of green grass to take home and experiment with, too.

While the grass dye didn’t have quite the effect intended (it turned a white T-shirt “the faintest faintest brown,” they later told me), their interest in it helped me to start seeing all kinds of plants around me — from my kitchen waste to the flower petals strewn on the ground in the nearby cemetery
